On this list we will cover different parts of the world and holiday styles to suit any preference and budget, breaking away from a resort-style holiday is not easy if that is what you are used to but there is no harm in trying something different. You don’t have to go to another country to do this either with many exciting opportunities that may be much closer to you than you would think. In my opinion, as long as you are enjoying spending time with your loved ones then that should be enough so keep some of these options in mind when you come to book your next vacation.

  • What are Resort Holidays?

Resort holidays are those spent without having to leave the confines of your hotel, everything you and the family need is under one roof and it can be easy to get caught up in the luxurious atmosphere. One thing to remember if you are looking at going for a resort holiday is that you should only do so if you know that you are going to get the most out of your money and spend a lot of time in the hotel complex, otherwise there isn’t much point in spending so much. It has become a lot more popular for people to go on more spontaneous holidays where they are going to see a new location rather than just to stay in the hotel.

Either kind of holiday is fine but it is down to your preference to choose the one that you are going to enjoy the most, after all, it is your money that you are spending on that one time of year when you can truly relax in the sun without the stress of life getting in the way. If you are looking for a more adventurous holiday to spend with your loved ones trying new foods, activities and getting a taste of a new culture then keep reading for some of my best suggestions.

  • Cornwall

If you really want to get away from the over luxurious feel of resort holidays then Cornwall may be the place for you, with so much to offer including native traditional foods and activities and

a big surfing scene in the beachside locations you should find plenty to do on a vacation here. Cornwall is located in the southern part of the UK and gets a lot of nice weather in the summer months. If you want a holiday that is spent doing fun activities that you wouldn’t do anywhere else then Cornwall should be up for discussion. Also, if you find that you want to take some time to relax then the beaches are a great place to do this.

  • South Africa

Somewhere a little further afield that you should definitely consider for your next vacation would have to be South Africa, known for its culture and wildlife-rich communities there is a lot to see and do in this part of the world. If you are looking for a holiday with some adrenaline and excitement then South Africa’s huge popularity of water sports like parasailing and surfing could be just what you need to burn off some steam and get some exercise. If you are traveling as a family then you may also be interested to know about the many opportunities to see animals and safari trips in this region, for small children who have never seen wild animals before this could be the perfect opportunity to really surprise them.

  • Hawaii

Although Hawaii has many options for resort holidays it is not the only thing that it is known for, there is much to do here including a lot of interesting cultural opportunities that are unique to the area. If you want to try something completely new with the iconic beach backdrop to help you enjoy yourself then you should definitely check out the latest issue of hanahou magazine, for a detailed insight into all of the fun you can get involved with if you choose to travel to Hawaii for your next big vacation. If you have never been before then I would urge you to consider it as there is definitely something there that appeals to everyone.

  • City Breaks

If you are tired of the traditional beach holiday then I would consider looking at a city break the next time you need to get away from it all, cities are full of interesting things to do and you know that there will always be an atmosphere for you to enjoy no matter where you end up. City breaks also end up being quite affordable as the cost of a hotel is normally cheaper and you don’t have to travel as far.

  • Thailand

The final destination on this list that fits with the city appeal that was just mentioned would have to be Thailand, with the bright lights and huge busy cities you will not be short of things to do if you decide to visit. Thailand has a lot to offer with unique street foods and the overall way of life is very different. This is the place to go if you want an experience you will never forget. Thailand also has a lot of history behind it with many cultural tourist attractions in the region with their own unique story for you to learn about, a trip to Thailand is not one that you want to miss so I would definitely consider it as an alternative to a resort vacation.
